Banner raises money for Breast Cancer Care

Pedalling the Pennines

Budding bikers from across the EVO Group are taking to two wheels to raise £3,000 for Breast Cancer Care on 7 and 8 March 2018.

We’re expecting a fair bit of competitive spirit when colleagues from our Sheffield and Normanton offices will take turns to pedal on static exercise bikes as part of the charity’s ‘Pedal the Pennines’ event. Racers will be pedalling a 350-mile virtual route between 9am and 5pm over the two days.

In addition, fundraising activities will be taking place at each Banner site, across the UK, throughout the two-day event. Keep an eye out on our Twitter and LinkedIn pages to see how we’re all doing.

In total we’re aiming to raise at least £3,000 to help the only UK wide charity that provides care, information and support to people affected by breast cancer. Services offered by Breast Cancer Care include helplines, specialist nurses for younger breast cancer patients, expert information on pain management and moving forward courses to support women after their treatment has ended.

Help us fundraise towards our £3,000 total by sponsoring our colleagues, it will help make a big difference for one of the UK’s leading cancer charities. To donate a few pennies, please visit https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/EVO-Normanton-PTP

How your money helps:

  • £30 can give women with Breast Cancer the help and support they need through the Helpline
  • £450 could give 40 younger women help and support through expert support of a younger specialist nurse at a bespoke event.
  • £1,100 could give 15 women with secondary breast cancer the expert information on pain management they so desperately need with a Living with Breast Cancer event &
  • £2,750 could give 10 women with breast cancer somewhere to go after their treatment through attending four sessions of a Moving Forward course.
